Music in the Pubs of Doolin

If you enjoy traditional Irish music – visit Doolin, Ireland

Doolin, a small village in County Clare on the Atlantic coast has been associated with music for generations. Made famous during the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s by the Russell Brothers, Doolin developed an aura which could be felt by people immediately on arrival.

The very unassuming nature of the place coupled with the distance from any major town at the time, gave any independent traveler the feeling of escapism, and freedom from the hustle and bustle of normal life.

The tradition continues today and great music and “craic” can be experienced in all 4 Doolin Pubs.

The Village of Doolin is about .5 Miles in length, stretching from Fisherstreet to Roadford

On Fisherstreet, you can enjoy the music, the culture and history of O’Connors pub.

At Fitz’s Cross, half way between Fisherstreet and Roadford, you can enjoy music at Fitzpatricks Bar.

In Roadford, there are 2 pubs, McGanns and McDermotts. Both pubs serve up a treat in music every day.

Food is served in all pubs, parking is free, buses are welcome.

Many tourists who visit Doolin may not be frequent pub goers but that does not matter. People come for the ambiance, the chat, the escapism. You will be made feel welcome in Doolin.

Doolin Activity Lodge is located on the road between Fisherstreet and Roadford.
